“Yeah, so?” Syx looked at Lyn in exasperation waiting for her to finish the thought but she never did, then pinched the bridge of his nose, “You’re as bad as a Sphynx.”

“There… there are a lot of ways I could interpret that,” he sighed heavily, but waved a hand dismissively at the thought, “Yeah, neutral, I get it. Hell Sphynx,” he shook his head but pulled himself together as he prepared to leave. He had so much to do.

He softened and bit his lip, “Thanks, though, Emma. It’s more than I started with.”

She shrugged her shoulders at his complaint, unbothered by it in the slightest. He was a smart man, he would figure it out on his own, that much she had faith in. The way she worded it, the information Syx would gain couldn’t be traced back to her or her Father. Though it was definitely skating along the edge of it all, it was something she could easily reason away. After all, how could she possibly stand there and watch him as he was and do nothing…? She might enjoy their rivalry (if you could even call it a rivalry at this point), but she wasn’t heartless despite what she made herself out to be.

“Yer welcome, big guy. Hope ya get it figured out sooner rather than later,” she smiled some, placing a hand to his arm, giving him a lingering look before continuing to walk towards the club they stood outside of.

“Me too,” Syx sighed. But that was defeatist. He squared his shoulders and fluttered his cape, “I always do in the end.”

As she left, he called out sincerely, “I appreciate it, Hell Cat.”

The small touch to his arm had meant more than words and his final call of the nickname was said in utter fondness, more than he was willing to admit.

Syx turned and gave her an incredulous look, “Oh god, no. One Doom Syndicate fighting another? I’m not suicidal. The whole city would look like a Mad Max film,” he shuddered at the devastation a full out super villain battle between powerhouses like that could potentially cause, “I want to forestall a major battle, not cause one.”

He sighed heavily and frowned softly at her show of concern, putting a hand halfway out towards her before dropping it and looking away, “I will,” he gave a half-hearted laugh and a shrug, “You know me, I always bounce back swinging.”

That last bit, though, “Fear?” his frown deepened, he was better at avoiding his darkest fears than facing them, “…how so?”

She watched him with an intelligent gleam in those pale eyes of hers, watching him react as he did. She knew this was likely hard for the blue man, and oddly enough she found herself almost sympathetic towards him. Not enough to openly help him and side with him, but certainly enough to soften her a bit in a manner that he would see from time to time (when they weren’t bickering). Much like her Father she preferred to keep a low profile… though should push come to shove, she would certainly intervene

The question had her lips twitching just a touch, “Dad works on pleasure and happiness, yeah? The fine things in life. Call ‘imself a witch doctor fer a reason… works ta fix the ailments…,” she was speaking in riddles and she knew it… but it was how she needed to handle this right now. Where Jim used his powers to put people at ease, relax them and make them feel happy.. from what she understood and what he had told her, Jon used his smoke and powers to draw out the fear and terrify people. She hoped that Syx would catch her drift in where she was going with this, giving Syx information by explaining to him what her own Dad did with his powers…

Syx || pleasurable sins and deadly vices

Syx stopped his pacing and narrowed his eyes at her while he thought through what she had and hadn’t said, “They have overlapping business but not exactly overlapping. And in Jim doesn’t like him much, then he’s either annoying or even too crass for the drug lord.”

He mused out loud, knowing full well that Psycho would complain about him using the drug lord’s name so casually.Though they both did it to annoy the other, “But not enough to want to fight him.” Syx sighed and crossed his arms, “Great,”

He wasn’t really surprised, Psycho was a very cautious crime boss. Which was the main reason the man spent so little time in jail. He avoided doing anything directly whenever possible which was why he employed people like Destruction Worker.

Lyn merely listened to what it was Syx was saying at first, keeping her arms crossed. She remained quiet simply so she didn’t give anything else away, more than used to dancing around issues. Though then again, she knew Syx was very intelligent, and with as well as they seemed to know one another, she figured he would pick up on the  s u b t l e  hints she was giving to him. She merely shrugged, though in her opinion the other drug lord was a fucking moron.. he had done absolutely nothing to earn any form of respect from her. He was one man, she wouldn’t hesitate to kill him herself if she needed to.

“If ya plan on askin’ either a us ta get into the middle a this, yer barkin’ up tha wrong tree,” she informed Syx, lips thinning a bit in her displeasure in the assumption she made. “The two got a sort of… mutual understandin’,” Emma continued, though paused as she looked to Syx. She couldn’t help how her concern for him  r o s e, sighing heavily as she closed her eyes and dropped her arms, adjusting her coat in a manner that had her bare midriff flashing before she looked to him again.

“…Be careful with this, you hear..?” She prompted softly, her accent growing more of a hint in her voice. “This man works on fear.. there’s probably more to him than meets the eye, yeah? Try to fix this, before it gets worse..”

Syx turned and gave her an incredulous look, “Oh god, no. One Doom Syndicate fighting another? I’m not suicidal.
