Clasping his hands behind his back in a way he knew made his cape fall nicely, Syx nodded,

❝I assume I’m still the newest but with this city, who really knows? Hmm?❞ he gave a wave to the table with the prepared food and drinks,

❝We met once before when I first arrived… At least I’m nearly certain it was you. You’re the one Harrison calls… Girly?❞ he cringed even as he said it. That was unlikely to be a nickname that she would be happy to have spread around. He rushed to continue on,

❝In a time-out, non hero/villain setting like this, Syx will be fine for me.❞

That he already knew Harrison made this quite a bit easier. Megamind finds herself nodding in acknowledgement, having to hide a smirk of understanding on seeing the stance he’d chosen. “We had, and you know there’s no reason to doubt our memory.”

Syx, again. His pronunciation was at least distinct enough that she could hear the difference between which person was being mentioned. Still, she’s careful to not bring up Six as well, not just yet. “Yes, I am.” The nickname had taken some adjustment at first, but Megamind could see the use of it regardless of her own feelings on the matter.

For now, however, down to business. “So, about the reason you called?” She hesitates before that last choice of word, but it’s the closest she could get.

❝Right,❞ Syx clapped his hands together and pulled out a chair for himself. Pouring them both a glass of wine. It wasn’t terribly fancy, a twist off, but very sweet and fruity and had been a staple of his all through his villainous career to celebrate success, ❝I’ll cut to the chase. But please do try some cheese.❞

He offered Girly a glass, ❝Do to unfortunate circumstances I find myself without a nemesis and that is rather… boring. But the city is hardly devoid of heros. But a villain such as myself it just wouldn’t do to just… hope someone shows up. I could get some hopeless amateur who doesn’t know how the game works. So I’m doing interviews. For a new nemesis. Temporary. Trial basis,❞ he rambled at the end, ❝In case Wayne comes out of… whatever he’s doing,❞ his face fell, his mask slipping off to show a flash of true worry before he recovered, ❝I have a few others I’ll be interviewing as well,❞ he added, just to make sure she didn’t think she was his only option. So far he only had 2, but neither needed to know that.

Bell snapped a picture of her nails as she lay on the couch. Her nearly black nail polish in contrast to her blue skin. Layered in the gloss of the polish was glittering blue sparkles that had taken ages to get just right. It was always a shame to hide them in gloves but she also never wanted to ruin them after getting them just right.

The Game

Being able to talk openly sounded better in his book so he sent her the message back saying what roof he wanted to meet on. After that it was just the matter of selecting an appropriate outfit and making food suggestions to Minion.

At the agreed upon time Syx was already prepared, a table set up by his brain bots. He’d only brought the more advanced models that he’d made sure could tell the difference between him and his alternates. Minion had prepared then an array of pastries and chocolate dipped fruit and Syx had decided to fuck it and had brought wine too because he wanted to make a good impression. He endeavored to make the table setting appear business like and professional as this was a formal interview. For that he’d picked out a suit at first but feared it gave the wrong impression. After going through five outfits he settled on a villain suit with fewer spikes and a more subdued collar. The cut of the shoulder meant to more resemble a suit jacket in the way his cape hung from them. Villain but classy. That’s what he was hoping for anyway. Something to impress his potential new temporary nemesis.

It was a simple matter, once Megamind knew where the meeting space was, to position her own Brainbots nearby to keep an extra eye on the area. And when the unfamiliar swarm starts trickling in, she’s prepared. Tolerating her Minion’s fussing prior to the meeting, she’s nonetheless grateful for it. Presentation, after all, was one of her foremost concerns on public appearances.Though for this one the first thing on her mind was the existence of yet another double that, until now, she hadn’t had the opportunity to meet in person. How this encounter exactly would go was up in the air, and even with the relative reliability between their personalities the fact that there was variation to begin with has Megamind understandably wary. As such, only when Syx makes his appearance does she do the same, the cloaking device she’d adapted from the Invisible Car being disengaged.Glancing about to make sure her Brainbots were correctly placed nearby, Megamind strides forward. “Ollo. You’re the newest one of us, aren’t you?”

“I’m not even sorry.”

“…I’m sure yer not… either way I swear ta god if ya don’ get me outta this contraption a yers, I’m gonna kick yer ass.”

❝No. You were kicking my ass and that’s why you are IN Spider Dethicus’ ensnarement!❞ he gestured to the large spider-like robot that had its legs around her.

❝Ah!❞ Syx jerked as the hand collided unexpectedly with his rear, his scream loud and undignified. He wiped around, lips drawn into a line, ❝Don’t test my trigger finger, contemptuous witch! I will cube you again.❞

Snickering, Carmen is addressing Dahlia first, the little girl strapped into a carrier on her front. “Now don’ ya be doin’ tha’ yaself until ya ol’ enough.”

Then she turns her attention to Syx, a smirk appearing on her face. “Ya wouldn’, no’ now.”

❝And why wouldn’t I? Hmmm?❞ Syx crossed his arms, hip kicked out as he put his all into glowering menacingly,

❝You aren’t even pregnant this time and you know first hand that it’s perfectly safe regardless,❞ he humphed,

❝I promise to never launch your cubed body into the sun if it helps.❞

His expression turned dark as his annoyance showed past his villain banter,

❝The alternatives are worse a assure you. You’re currently getting the NICE setting.❞

Scientists from outer space have managed to capture one of these creatures from the new planet they just discovered and they wanted to bring it back to earth as a proof and for the professionals to study this unindentified monster. Theg also experimented on it and managed to force the ability to shape shift it into its human form in order to mask their evidence from  the public. One thing lead to another, but the extraterrestrial’s need to escape and the threat it was  getting from the men provoked the beast into severing their heads or paralyzing them to death and the experiment escaped, it was pitch black in color, with purplish highlights, its physique was very slender with its skeletal structure resembled of a snake but with  clawed limbs adorned with talons and its tail ended with a stinger. Its face and neck was very cobra like with the hood following it’s long neck and had huge glowing flurocent blue eyes, it was endorned by the same colored markings along its body and they’d glow in the dark at will.

As ruthless as it was, this alien was extremely intelligent, selfaware and adaptable; so it turned into its human form as soon as it escaped the building, nude, out of the window, he spotted passing cars and the crowd below them, disoriented of what to do next…. it was like a cat stuck on a tree. It seemed extremely confused on why where so many people screaming and pointing at him.

“….???”

Minion had been wiping through traffic at extremely high speed in the invisible car. Dodging between traffic with easy and only a few near misses and skidding tired. In his youth, it had given Syx quite a few panic attacks watching his brother’s reckless behavior. But the gorilla like robotic body Minion used had exceptional reflexes and he was fairly certain his brother could outrace any dragster if he wanted. He could certainly always outrun the cops, drifting like a pro. When the car slammed to a halt, Syx’s forehead bounced off the seat in front of him.

❝Ow! My gaint blue head!❞

As Syx rubber his head, Minion turned around in his tank, ❝Sorry, Sir. The street’s blocked. There seems to be someone who’s going to jump.❞ the hench-fish pointed up at the odd naked man looking confused down at the growing crowd.

❝No respect for anyone’s busy life!❞ the blue villain exasperated, grumbling as he got out of the invisible car, de-gun waving in the air threateningly at the crowd blocking his path home, ❝You! Yes you on the window! I have a very busy schedule to keep you now!❞ he didn’t but the crowd still needed to know their place and he could seem too soft after all. Plus he hated being caught in crowds. You couldn’t trust them, ❝If you don’t shout, hero’s aren’t going to show up,❞ he elaborated, with a deep sigh, gesturing with his gun the the growing unease of the milling civilians.

Unntering distracted by his current project, Syx worked, his tongue poking out and hips swaying to the music that drown out all the rest of the noise in the Lair. As the hand hit his ass, he gave a yelp and dropped his soldering iron. Blinking owlishly behind him, he bit his lower lip seeing his mate. A mischevious smirk gracing his features, he wiggled his hip,

❝Come again? I’m not sure I heard you over the music.❞

Syx distressed at her whining, whimpering softly back as he washed her face and pressed his body against hers. She meant the world to him no matter what shape she had. She was part of his home. Like Minion, he revolved around her movements in their lives like gravity. She was home. Where ever they were was home.

Never did he wasn’t her to be sad. His senses were thrown off in his wolf form, but as he washed her face he could tell it was far more complicated than just sad or happy tears. And pack… that seemed like a good word. He still wasn’t sure what sort of social groups his people formed, but the idea of having all his loved ones together, being near them in larger number than the standard human family unit… that sounded wonderful.

Much like Syx felt, Anna knew that it wasn’t this warehouse they lived in or whatever building they may live in that was home. It was the two people she shared it with, Syx himself that was her home and the love of her life. Remaining there with her arms around his body, she relished in the feeling of it all before realization that he had yet to change back came to her. Opening her eyes, ones that glowed a touch brighter before settling again. Pulling from him, she shifted to gingerly thread her fingers through his fur with a small smile.

“Can you shift?” She prompted, wondering if this was something that he was able to do now. She didn’t question why, she merely took it all in stride as she always did

Pressing into the warm comfort of his beloved’s embrace, Syx calmed considerably. He still felt horribly awkward in this form, but the panic had passed and Anna always smelled good. Better now.

As she spoke, he blinked up at her, fuzzy brows raised. He wasn’t even sure how he got this way much less how to get back to normal. He whined and shook his head. His attempt at a shrug just had him shaking his shoulders.
