“Fuck,” SYx muttered, “Well your friend needs some life lessons about negotiation tactics and how to give threats,” talking more to the ground than to Lyn. He’d grown comfortable enough around the other villain over the years to let her see the real him. To see him weaker and frustrated. There were things he still would never trust her with… but that number had dwindled in ways that scared him some days.

Biting his finger as she listed the powers, he reasoned, “So cubing won’t work on him… my protection will be the same I use on you dad, so that shouldn’t be an issue…” he tapped his chin, “What’s old Jimmy Boy think of him anyway? I thought he’d take it harder than I did finding alternates?”

Especially as it sounded like this guy was somehow the evil version, which was a worrisome thought. For all their fights and disagreements… Jimmy wasn’t the worst thing. They were killers and Syx really didn’t trust them… but they were manageable for the most part and Jimmy did have morals. He could come to some agreements with the man.

Lyn nodded slowly as Syx went through his thought process out loud, waiting with an arch of her brow. She shifted her weight onto one foot as her tail shifted behind her in a rather graceful curling motion before stilling again. She crossed her arms over her chest, the action opening the deep V of her coat a bit more to show the white lace top she had.

“Well.. he reacted bout as well as ya can expect. Calls him Double Bubble a lot. I wasn’t there for tha actual talk.. Dad didn’t wanna show me in case shit went ta hell-” it was fairly often that Jim used Emma as his secret wild card.. several people knew who she was, and what group she was a part of.. but her powers? Those were either wildly dramatized or undermined… nobody truly knew just what Emma was able to.. Syx included. She had never went full on with him, and likely never would unless things truly went to hell.

“Tha guy is a bit of a fucknut from what Dad says.. but there is at least enough of a interest in what tha dude does ta work with ‘im,” she mused, though she was very careful with what she said. Everything she said was true.. but there was far more to it than just that… and it was hinted at as Emma mentioned Jim’s interest in it

Syx stopped his pacing and narrowed his eyes at her while he thought through what she had and hadn’t said, “They have overlapping business but not exactly overlapping. And in Jim doesn’t like him much, then he’s either annoying or even too crass for the drug lord.”

He mused out loud, knowing full well that Psycho would complain about him using the drug lord’s name so casually.Though they both did it to annoy the other, “But not enough to want to fight him.” Syx sighed and crossed his arms, “Great,”

He wasn’t really surprised, Psycho was a very cautious crime boss. Which was the main reason the man spent so little time in jail. He avoided doing anything directly whenever possible which was why he employed people like Destruction Worker.

“I know my inventions better than you,” Syx snapped, “It’s perfectly safe. Safer than any other way I could have dealt with her. Do you have any idea the amount of brain damage getting knocked out by force can cause?” which of course was why he used a spray for Miss Ritchi.

“Information is all I came for Emmalyn, the fewer people involved the better,” sighing he drew his cape closed and wrapped his arms around himself under the cover of it, “Can you tell me about his abilities? His men?” what he’d gotten himself into… fuck, he hadn’t seen any way out at the time… but this wasn’t going to be fun, “Also… just a heads up, I’ll be test of the big guns when this starts up, as a show of power.”

His snapping words had her ears turning back immediately, eyes flashing with irritation, “Calm tha fuck down, dumb ass!” She snapped. “Carmen is somethin’ of a friend, and I’ll be damned if I don’t ask a simple fuckin’ question an’ get a god damn answer without ya bein a god damn cock thistle about it!” She snarled the words, growing more heated the more she spoke.

She took in a deep breath to calm her ass down, though her eyes still shone with irritation, her tail lashing behind her in further show of the emotion. “From what I understand, tha guy is pretty much tha opposite a Dad. Dad works with love and relief, tha other guy deals with nightmares and pain. He can turn ta smoke and put drugs inta other people’s systems.. I don’t know any specifics past that.. Dad an’ him had a sort a ‘show an’ tell’ of powers when they had their truce meeting.”

“Her!?” She practically screeched the single word, her eyes widening, swiftly connecting the dots without him even needing to really explain a whole lot of anything. Of course this idiot fucking takes the shit Carmen takes seriously..! The man didn’t know how to be subtle, or discrete, nor did he know how to take things lightly to begin with! Her lips twisted into something close to a snarl, turning from him to take a couple pacing steps before returning to him.

“I get appearances, blue brain… but jesus.. having ta send his wife back to him? Where is she, even?” She prompted, looking around before looking up. “..Please don’t tell me yer dumb enough ta leave her in tha cold… jesus..” She grumbled, not having connected the dots that Carmen was actually cubed and not restrained.

“So you know her then,” Syx pulled back at the furry of Lyn’s reaction and stamped out his cigarette angrily, “Yes I am fully aware of the seriousness, thanks.”

He shot her an exasperated look, “In my pocket? Fuck, Hell Cat, I’m not an idiot. She’s safe and sound. I only verbally threatened her,” he rolled his eyes up to the sky, “She threw all my good will in my face and expected me to bow to her ridiculous and fucking cryptic statements and just, fucking hell,” he threw his hands up, “She’s the one that needs to not start shit! What the hell was a pregnant lady doing mouthing off to a super villain without any protection!? What? She thought I was some push over clown? Ha!” he kicked an empty bottle hard, sending it sailing to shatter on a wall, “All I fucking did was offer her dinner.”

“…In yer pocket? Tha-” she stopped as she finally realized just what it was he did, her eyes widening a fraction before sighing heavily and reached to pinch the bridge of her nose. “…Did ya think about what fuckin dehydratin her would do to tha kid she’s growin’ in her damn stomach?” She prompted, looking to him with a frustrated expression.

She exhaled slowly, surprisingly calm considering it all, “Alright.. look. I’ll give ya tha address, but past that, ya know I gotta remain neutral, right?” She knew he would know that.. but it was something that she would need to ensure would remain. A war was inevitable in her own mind. She assumed Jon would be beyond furious.. and no matter what it was Syx would say, it wouldn’t make it better. If her and Jim got drug into the middle of it? It would likely turn into a blood bath this city didn’t really need.

Besides, there was no real point in Lyn taking sides to begin with.

“I know my inventions better than you,” Syx snapped, “It’s perfectly safe. Safer than any other way I could have dealt with her. Do you have any idea the amount of brain damage getting knocked out by force can cause?” which of course was why he used a spray for Miss Ritchi.

Lyn frowned deeply at what it was he was beginning to tell her, her brows furrowing a bit more obviously over her eyes as he continued on. His speak of war? That had her closing her eyes and her lips parting just a bit as she sighed out slowly. She let her head drop a bit, shaking her head slowly from side to side, all traces of sass gone. She reached up, pinching the bridge of her nose for a moment before looking up at him with a weary expression.

“..Fuckin’ war, Syx? Seriously?” She grumbled, shaking her head again before taking her hair from the pony tail and raking her fingers through the hair. The action showed the shaved sides of her head that her long hair covered, her lips thinning unhappily.

“…Alrigh’ well I know where tha dude lives.. I can give ya directions an’ an address.. but ya gotta fuckin’ promise me that you’ll do yer best ta fix whatever ya did, ya hear?” she informed him, looking to him and pointing a finger at him. “What’s tha package that’s got yer panties in a twist?”

Syx groaned, “It was her damn fault! I was being perfectly civil! I even offered to have a nice chat over terms over at Fast-Finger’s place,“ Freddy’s fancy Italian restaurant was usually considered neutral territory. Most didn’t know he was connected to the blue villain, but they did know the man was a former criminal and would let out his back dinning rooms for meetings on the down low, “it was not my fault it escalated,” he insisted stubornly.

Sighing deeply and taking another drag, he muttered, “I had to make an example. If I didn’t she would have told him I was a push over and then I’d start losing ground. You know how that goes,” kicking the ground he let the cigarette dangle from his lips, “It’s all about appearance. So I can’t promise shit, Kitty Cat. Though I do promise my note is going to be nice and offer peace again. But I won’t have him pushing me over. I don’t let your dad and I shit ain’t gonna let someone new asshole just cuz his wife claims he’s scary,” he snorted.

Idly, Lyn wondered why he didn’t simply ask her for a light rather than using his fucking gun.. the weirdo, but then again, what did that make her? She happily ignored the little voice, watching him as he took his sweet ass time answering her question, feigning disinterest.. if Syx was asking her for help, it was likely important. No matter how odd their relationship was and how often she got fucking whip lash from going to being pissed off at him, to fucking him.. he still mattered to her, in some twisted manner.

“A course I know bout him,” she answered, scoffing as she took in another drag. “Its my business ta know. Dad and him have some kind of truce. Why?”

Syx took a drag finally and blew out a puff of smoke, “I’m going to need info on him… and a location to drop something off that needs to go directly to his hands,” he scrubbed a hand over his face, “I don’t want to make this any worse than it is, but at this point war is likely inevitable.”

He glanced up at her to gauge her reaction. Megamind had a truce with both her and her dad’s Doom Syndicate, but part of that was not dragging each other into the others conflicts. So this had to be delicate. The whole thing did really. This could potentially topple and change the criminal underworld and power vacuums lead to more fighting. But he needed his peace with the new Delic to be on his terms and not theirs. If they couldn’t reach a peace… he cringed.

Refocusing on Lyn, he continued, “The package is… very important to him and i need to return it before he starts missing it.”

There were few people in this world that Lyn would let touch her so casually.. Syx being one of them, when she was in the proper mood. Luckily enough for him, she was in a relatively good mood, though that didn’t mean that fact could change. Her eyes flashed with a flirty nature, her lips curled as she looked up to him with interest, stepping up against his form without much hesitation in the slightest. She wondered just what he would do.. she could use a good-

Her thoughts derailed when he asked for her help, blinking a couple times in surprise before scoffing. “An’ here I thought we’d have a bit a fun,” she mused, bringing the cigarette to her lips to take another drag with a thoughtful noise.

“Whatcha need, big man?” she prompted, in a good enough mood to at least hear him out for the moment.

Syx took a deep breath and looking around for something to sit on, really only saw her bike nearby… as familiar as they were, he wouldn’t quite dare that. He knew how much she loved that bike and he didn’t blame her.

Sighing he absently pulled out another cigarette himself, Minion could just yell at him later for getting smoke smell in his cape. Lighting it with the tip of the de-gun, he holstered the weapon and just held the cigarette, loosely, “So… do you know about another Psycho Delic in town?”

Biting his lip, Syx gave into that horrible little impulse that always caused these issues. Stepping forward he snagged a finger around that bottom button and tugged lightly, “No one said anything about not enjoying it.”

It was a struggle for a moment to recall what he’d come for instead of making an attempt to silence her horrible mouth with his lips, smoke and all. Closing his smoldering green eyes and quelling the kindled fire that always crept up around her… and it was a fiery passion no matter which way it burned on a given day between anger and lust.

Licking his lips, he restarted, “I have a problem I need your assistance with.”

Blowing a long stream of smoke out and stubbing out his cigarette on the rooftop, Syx contemplated how to approach this. Rubbing his hands over his face he moved to stand. On the edge, he looked down and decided on dramatic. pulling out the toe cable from the hoverbike, he secured it around a solid bit of building and repealed down until he could safely bounce off the wall and land in a clever pose. Cape settling back around him in what he hoped was a really fucking cool looking way, Syx straightened and jerked his chin at Lyn in greeting.

“That’s a horrible habit, Hell Cat,” as if he hadn’t just been smoking, his lips quirking in acknowledgment to the fact that he was sure she could smell it on him. Now able to better see her outfit, he gave her an appraising look, “While I completely understand the sacrifices we make for presentation, they make those buttons for a reason,” he arched a brow, she had to be freezing even if the exposed skin gave him horrible ideas for how to warm her up.

She heard the fluttering of his cape before she saw him drop down before her, her brows climbing in surprise. She made a low noise, purposefully bringing her cigarette up to her lips again to inhale the smoke, holding it in her lungs before blowing it up into the air. “Right,” was all she gave him in response, clearly smelling the smoke on his own breath.

She had been in the state long enough to have grown a bit used to the cold weather.. and if she were to get too cold, she would simply bring up her new little trick she had found playing with her fire. “I highly doubt ya came here ta give me fashion advice. An’ if ya don’t like it well..” She motioned upwards to where he had come from. “You can get yer happy ass back on yer bike.”

His problem was that the paranoid woman had given him painfully little information to work from, but if there was more than one Psycho Delic in town he was sure his version would know about it. With that in mind, Syx sought out Lyn. The Hell Cat had a temper and they often fought… but just as often fucked. Theirs was an odd relationship, but he still figured his chances of information were better with her than with Psycho. The man was sarcastic and fickle at the best of times. Syx had perhaps cubed the man one too many times in his youth…

Swinging by one of Lyn’s favorite hangouts, Syx settled the hoverbike on the roof and kept a look out. Sitting on the edge of the roof, he broke out a pack of smokes. Today was a day that needed them.

Lyn had long ago stopped trying to put some kind of label on what her relationship with the blue man was.. it was a mess, in all reality. She would be lying, however, if she said that she hated it in any form. If anything it was fun.. it certainly was never boring, that much was for certain. The weather outside was getting just a touch too cold for her to keep riding her bike.. but she wasn’t the type to only ride when it was nice out. She’d keep riding until the snow fell, so it was the throaty sound of her motorcycle pulling up to the club that Syx would hear down below to signal her arrival.

The feline was dressed a bit differently today, a pair of actual jeans on with black leather boots, and a black leather jacket that was buttoned with only one button down by her stomach. Beneath the jacket, she wore a white lace bralette and nothing else, that fact made obvious by the bits of skin showing there. She had yet to realize that Syx was above her, running her fingers through her hair as she pulled out her own cigarettes and sparkling lighter, sparking up a flame.

She held it at the edge of her cigarette that dangled from her mouth, coaxing it to life before snapping her zippo closed and exhaling the smoke.

Blowing a long stream of smoke out and stubbing out his cigarette on the rooftop, Syx contemplated how to approach this. Rubbing his hands over his face he moved to stand.
