Ah, but what about de-regulate! What’s that do?
There are two notions about the de-regulate setting afloat in fanon. One says that its purpose is to short out voltage regulators. If the voltage regulator in a vehicle shorts out, the vehicle stops. Megamind uses it on police vehicles that are pursuing him. The other notion is that it causes, ahem, a sudden need to run for the bathroom. He uses it on people who are being a nuisance but not enough of a nuisance to earn dehydration.
(( I always go with the shorting out things explanation for de-regulate ))
