So because I have lots and lots of Megamind icons for rp, I’m going to use them to tell ya’ll a little tale of my day.
We had a work party/meeting because we get our bonus money today. Yay money! Also free food that my talented coworkers made.
But also I am socially awkward and autistic. This isn’t really fun. It’s just a thing that the food makes acceptable. We sit and I follow along with clapping at the right times while chatting with the 2 cool coworkers that are actually fun to talk to. It’s nice.
Then it starts. “We’re all going to the bar to drink after! You should come too!”
Sit in a crowded bar? With a bunch of people I have nothing to talk with about anything I care about? Where I am stuck because I want to leave right away but it’s socially unacceptable and I’m sure to offend people in ways I don’t understand?
Oh yes, what A GreAt pLaN. /insert noncomital response
I just looooooove when people make last minute plans and want me to be excited about them. Like yay, look at how thrilled I am.
But at least there is always the tried and true fallback, “Oh, sorry, no… I have plans.”
and the inevitable, “Oh, what are you doing? Anything fun?”
“…things…”
This being rp with my gf and other friends, tumblr, fan fics, and/or whatever else isn’t their business and would get awkward looks I don’t wanna deal with soooooooo here I am, with my bottle of fancy beer that cost less than what I would have spent at the bar and prepared to have far more fun than I ever could have stuck out there.
