Hel froze when she felt the blanket placed onto her shoulders. The sudden weight was comforting, but unexpected. She wasn’t sure what exactly was happening. She turned to look at the blue man. For as moment all she did was stare at him, then she nodded her head in his direction, clutching the blanket closer around her body. “Thank you.”
Syx gave a one-shouldered shrug as he stepped back. He wasn’t entirely sure himself what had moved him to the gesture, but… but he knew too well how much even a passing kindness could mean. How much a blanket could mean.
Half turning away, he told her the same that had been said to him ages ago, “Just pay it forward sometime.”
