The Evil Lair

Roxanne walked the perimeter of the building. She had to correct herself as she looked it over. It didn’t just say go away in English, it said it in Spanish as well. She didn’t know any of the other languages, but she was beginning to suspect the blue villain had written the same phrases in every language he knew on the building. It was rather an obvious giveaway. As much as the complete lack of police reports or electricity usage. Signs of very obvious record tampering, the lack of any info standing out like a neon sign.

Not seeing a clear entrance, Roxanne suddenly froze. Complete lack! Like the records and the invisible car. He always tries to just make things disappear. She looked over the wall again, with greater scrutiny. There wasn’t a single entrance to the building save a rusted out fire exit. Every building had entrances and a large warehouse like this should have several including large doors to get trucks in and out of.

As she ran her fingers along the brickwork, she gave herself a quite pat on the back as the texture changed. The wall gave a slight glimmering ripple around her fingers, one she’d gotten used to seeing with the invisible car. That didn’t tell her how to get in, but he definitely had the right place! Closing her eyes to block out the confusing visual input, she felt out for any sort of catch or mechanism to open the hidden door.

Anna’s eyes watched as the woman with short brown hair moved about the outside, watching her with parted lips as something seemed to dawn on her.. and immediately Anna began to wonder if the door would be locked.. Syx would have locked it.. right? And if not Syx, then Minion.

Despite that reassurance, Anna began to back away from the screens before her, her eyes widening just a touch before she made a soft noise and turned. She didn’t run to the door.. this wasn’t that big of an issue. Not yet. She had just been touching the wall, just trying to find the door that was there. In Anna’s mind, there was no way she would be able to find teh door handle.

At least not finding it before Anna herself got there. And by that time? She would have locked the door, if her mate and minion didn’t already do it themselves.

Smiling with glee as her fingers found and depressed a switch, Roxanne gave a slight push and the door swung open. She closed her eyes as she passed through the holowgram, it was far too visually strange to walk through a wall. Without her knowing, Megamind’s security did a sweep over her and registered her as ‘welcome guest’.

To protect Miss Ritchi from harm from his machines, Syx had simply plugged Roxanne’s bio signature into all his systems to treat her with protection. To save time, he’d simply copied that override into each new system. Never had it occurred to him that his favorite kidnappie would have cause to wander freely around his lair or that she’d ever even find it without being brought there.
