“What? No, he was the one that turned me down,” Roxanne frowned, “Normally we’d watch romantic comedies and stupid campy stuff and eat ice cream and drink… it was a monthly ritual,” one that had been all but abandoned lately.
Not having the appetite for the rest of her donut, she rubbed her arms, “You really think that I could have been the only one to come here?”
Harrison sat up straighter and let his arms fall to his sides. “There’s no way to know without talking to the Wayne and Megamind you believe is yours, but its certainly possible. I’m not trying to freak you out,” he adds, reaching out to pat her on the leg.
“We have nicknames for a lot of us just to keep us all straight. Did I tell you one of the Megaminds is female? And that she married her Roxanne?” he asks, trying to change the subject with salacious gossip and wiggling eyebrows. “My Wayne calls her Girly or Femme.”
“What?” Roxanne squeaked, “Married? To Megamind?” her face colored red at the idea, only in her darkest fantasies. Ones she denied in the morning, “I-I mean, wait, female? There’s a girl Megamind?”
Her eyes widening as she tried to wrap her mind around it, Roxanne gasped, “How ridiculous are her outfits?”
The storm raged over Metro City, lightning cracking overhead. Dashing for the cover of an awning, Roxanne cursed the fact that her mode of transportation was a little yellow scooter. The gas mileage was great and it was so easy to get around the city… until days like this. Hunching in her dark jacket, she rubbed her arms to stay warm, making idle conversation with the woman next to her, “I hate these freak storms this time of year. The weather has been so bad this fall.”
