When I first found the Megamind fandom it was digging through the fanfic archives and live journal and reading everything I could. I was years late to the party and everything seemed dead, but I pulled in all I could. I’d discovered the movie late and when I did, it was while going through a rough part of my life. Megamind and Metro Man and Roxanne and Minion were my outlets my support. And in the pages of those fics I found a community that thought about queer identities and poly relationships and well >_> tentacles. It was all just YES MORE!!
And then I ran out.
I spent a year in my head, still obsessed. Making my own stories and ideas. And then I found tumblr. More importantly that you all just had moved to tumblr and that it wasn’t dead.
Nervously and cautiously I tried to figure out how to even talk to anyone. This was the first community I had EVER wanted to join in my whole life. The first time I actively participated. I started writing (and omg I need to finish that >_> i’m so bad) and it was the first time I had EVER felt good about my writing ability. Also the first time I ever shared fan art (my first creation and the first time I was inspired to draw in 3 years) and the love and support of everyone astounded me. It was a joy! And then talking to people and so many conversations of “i feel that way too” and I found people that I connected with like nothing else.
And then I talked to @celestialess ❤ and everything changed again. You can blame her for my lack of finishing my fics because she got me into rp. ;P I now have so many rp muses and 4 blogs. oops.
I like to think that Megamind would take Roxanne’s last name when they get married. I could give a big list of reasonings/justifications, even though they aren’t necessary, but the real reason why I like the idea is because I like thinking about Megamind’s face when he accidentally calls his wife “Miss Ritchi” and she responds by calling him “Mr Ritchi”
In my mind, it’s a really good face.
Alphys: You’re blocking the view.
Mettaton: I AM the view.
Pausing to look around and orientate herself, Roxanne watched the Brain Bots fly around the room. They’d been drawn to the door thinking Daddy was home, but seeing [Special Case: “Roxanne” = passive mode, additional program, run: Do Not Play] they ignored her and went about their business. Roxanne didn’t notice their behavior as unusual as the bots had always behaved that way around her.
In fact, the only thing to shock the reporter as she stated into the lair was the unfamiliar glowing eyes and the woman’s voice. She froze, wide eyed at the stranger, feeling strangely offended. In embarrassment she realized it was the same feeling she’d had upon realizing as a child that her teacher had a life outside of school. She’d known that she didn’t know everything about the blue super villain’s life… but it was different to actually see something so unexpected staring her in the face.
Straightening her back to try and cover for her surprise, Roxanne countered, “Me? Who are you?” taking in the clothing she added hesitantly, “Do you actually live here?” she realized she didn’t really know if this was a home or a workshop or what it was to Megamind. She’d assumed he would just built his robots in a place like this. At the same time… it was hard to picture Megamind living in a normal house.
Anna was absolutely shocked by how it was the brain bots were reacting, looking at them as they simply went about their day as normal.. her eyes shifted to narrow over at the woman, looking the well dressed brunette up and down before her eyes settled back on her eyes. Obviously the bots were programmed in a manner that made her realize that Syx trusted this woman.. but why? Why didn’t he tell her about this woman?
Anna was not a jealous woman. Not in the slightest. They had a healthy relationship, one built on pure trust.. seeing the woman here, made Anna wonder if there was something Syx had forgotten to tell her.. and considering she had never seen this woman until now? She was likely a blast from the past, perhaps?
“Yes, I live here with my mate… now.. who are you?” she prompted, not about to give the woman her name when she had yet to give Anna hers. In her mind, Roxanne was trespassing on her territory.. and if the bots wouldn’t do anything? She would, if necessary
“Mate?” Roxanne blinked in shock, recalling that Harrison had used that word too, “You’re Megamind’s… girlfriend?”
He had a lover? Roxanne was flabbergasted. Not that it mattered no, no, of course not. It was just a surprise and well… she’d rather thought he had a thing for Wayne…
“Roxanne Ritchi,” it had been a long time since someone hadn’t recognized her, “From Channel 8,” she prompted. Finally, with a sigh, she added, “The one that always gets tied to things during Megamind’s plots?”
Roxanne paused, looking towards the young blue girl. Yet another blue person she’d run into now. Well, supposedly there were any number throughout the city.
Shifting her purse strap back up onto her shoulder as she turned, Roxanne lifted an eyebrow, with a soft laugh, “Am I Roxanne from channel 8? Yeah.”
This really was her, then! Trying to not look too wide-eyed at actually meeting the woman, having seen someone like her on TV before, Lucy clears her throat. Both hands clinging to her backpack straps. “You’re really… wow. Um. Hi.”
The way that greeting had sounded does have the teen embarrassed, fighting to keep it from appearing on her face.
Roxanne smiled back at the girl uncertainly holding one arm, “Not everyday you meet someone from television?” she hazard a guess, but considering the blue skin she had to wonder, “Are you… related to Megamind? Or…?”
Taking about doubles and duplicates and gender swapped versions and parallel universes made her feel crazy. So related seemed a safe in between that had multiple interpretation.
Syx swallowed and keyed up the main door they used to exit the large bots through. At least the ceilings here were tall, but he still eyed her hair nervously, “I… just don’t want you to… swallow anything I love.”
His voice was barely over a whisper. Desperately he tried not to picture the hole that had swallowed his entire childhood.
Too late she had realised that there was trauma in this being’s life.
Something that related to her. Or at least, what she was. Celestialess wished she could take it back, but all she could do now was leave.
“I will not.” She finally promises, waiting until there was an exit big enough for her before looking for guidance to exit.
Syx had woken up from that nightmare again. It had gotten more frequent since his break up with Wayne. The stress, he was sure. Making sure not to wake Anna, Syx slipped out of bed and headed into the workshop. He needed a distraction. What he got was…
He made a high-pitched distressed noise in the back of his throat, beginning to hyperventilate. The void had come to swallow him whole.

“I will not.” She finally promises, waiting until there was an exit big enough for her before looking for guidance to exit.
Nodding, Syx let his shoulders relax slightly, “Good, good.”
As he watched her leave, he finally let himself marvel at her appearance. She was gorgeous really. As he let his eyes fall into the depth of her ‘skin’ he saw things he hadn’t since he’d been a small child. The stars, unhindered by the atmosphere of a planet…
Whistful, he wondered, “Are you really… made of space?”
Lyn growled angrily as Syx pulled at her, making a loud noise of both pain and frustration, “Like fuck I’m a damn hero!” She bit out. His actions didn’t give her much time to find her own footing, stumbling a moment with it, the action forcing her to rely more heavily on his support to continue on.
“Ya need ta go, fuck tard,” she growled, glancing back as the people rounded the corner they just went around. She hissed, her eyes flashing crimson just before the entire opening was consumed in a curtain of black hell fire.
“Ha! Good thing too fuzz brain, you’d-” Syx grunted under her weight “-a horrible hero.”
“NOPE!” he shouted at the wall of fire appeared, “That is essential for the escape plan. Even if my damn tool went and got herself shot, I still need you,” he certainly wasn’t going to admit any sort of feelings toward the woman.
He blamed his biology. The sex had screwed everything up in his head. It was less that he’d stopped hating her and more that… he couldn’t picture his life without her a part of it. She was his now, for better or worse.
Tightening his arms around her side, Syx took a deep breath and readied himself, “Alright, buckle up and here we go!”
Dragging her with him, Syx took her good arm and wielded her finger like a gun, knowing full well that wasn’t how that worked but the guards didn’t. Pointing their hands at a hall to the side, he said, “Bang!”
Megamind sighed dramatically, “Miss Ritchi, if the bag smells it’s your own fault. The only head that’s been inside it is yours,” and they did actually wash it a least every other month, but not every kidnapping. He just couldn’t see the point. It was hardly ever used for crying out loud! Scowling at her makeshift blindfold, Megamind shook his head, grumbling under his breath, “If it gets you in the car.”
He did still grab a length of rope and taking her hands tied them together. The knotwork was professional and kept any pressure off her blood vessels and tendons while still restricting movement. For good measure, he looped the other end to the dash of the car so that she was no longer able to reach up high enough to remove the blindfold. The movements, however, had him leaning over her as he worked, his breath on her neck, “With your cooperation, Miss Ritchi, we can be on our way.”
Roxanne lets her arms go limp in his grasp, cooperating as best she can while blind. “It begs the question, Megamind. Why DO you only ever take me? If it’s Metro Man you’re after, why not take his parents, or friends, or literally any citizen?” The nosy reporter has a hunch, nearly confirmed from the way the town’s supervillain keeps breathing down her neck, but she’s curious to see how he’ll try to justify his actions. “Unless… There’s some other motive to all of this?”
Pulling back, Megamind raised a brow at her, even if she couldn’t see him, “Why Miss Ritchi, is it that hard to figure out? I always considered you smart enough to figure it out for yourself.”
“How boring would one of the banal sheeple of Metrocity be, right? Sure Metro Mahn would save anyone I kidnapped,” Megamind waved a hand in the air, “He IS a hero after all, but you’re his girlfriend, and far more entertaining.”
As a side note, he added, “Besides, family is off limit. I thought you’d figured that out like the timeout rule.”
