It wasn’t until Wayne pulled his hand back that Nath realized he’d missed the gesture. Cursing himself for beeing too in his head, he stuffed his hands deeper in his pockets. He was not prepared for social contact right now.
Still… when was he ever lately. Forcing one of his old smiles on his face, he tried for something more charming.
“Me? Of course, my fine sir. Why wouldn’t I be fine?” for a million reasons he had no wish to go into, “Though you’re only the second Wayne I’ve met.”
“Mmm, right.” Wayne hums as Nath brushes off his question. He knew the guy was avoiding it and that was fine.
“Only the second? Well then let me be the first to tell you that i’m the coolest.” Wayne says with a grin and a wink.
“Ok, ok, simmer down there fella,” Nath couldn’t help the soft smirk that crept in at that wink the other gave him. He was certainly different than the other he’d met. This one was younger still if his guess was right, “What makes you the coolest then?”
“I’ve been going by Nathaniel,” Nath shrugged a shoulder, “Considering I’m living with myself-” he stopped mouth open and mentally cringed, “-ah, just for lack of confusions sake.”
He was horrible at this. Dear lord. Hadn’t talking to crowds once been easy? Or at least, if not easy at least functionally so. Painfully out of practice, that’s what he was. Being alone was easier… but it’d made everything else harder. He’d forgotten how to fake being human. Wayne… his Wayne… had been helping with that… but it was hardly the same as being in public.
“That’s a cool name.” Wayne says with a genuine smile, pulling his hand back as it wasn’t taken and shook and put it in his pocket with no second thought to it.
“Lack of confusi- OH so you mean you’re living with another version of you? Damn, we seem to be popping up all over the place, don’t we?” He chuckles and tilts his head at the expression on Nathaniel’s face.
“Hey man, you alright?” To see pretty much himself in the wars was slightly alarming. Wayne was worried.

Syx hummed in delight as her hands roamed him, just as sorrowful as his mate was when Anna pulled away. While she got her shoes, Syx fetched his bike. Sitting astride it when Anna returned, he reached out to her, helmet in hand.
“Come on, gorgeous,” he grinned brightly with a wink, “Adventure and wonderful company awaits.”
Anna smiled brightly as soon as she saw he was on his bike, her already vibrant eyes brightening in excitement that only he had been able to bring forth in her. Normally so calm, the excitement that she could scent and see in him only made her more eager to see just what it was that he had in store for them.
“More than wonderful company,” She laughed lightly, pressing a kiss to his cheek as soon as she was settled behind him. She shifted close to him, her arms wrapping around him without hesitation. She only bothered with the helmet because he insisted she did.
“The best company,” Syx agreed, humming at the kiss. He put on his own helmet, a custom built full face mask that when activated shimmered until it made the illusion of a normal sized head. It was a low intrusion camouflage, just so that they didn’t draw unwanted attention.
Revving the bike until it purred between their legs, Syx tore out of Evil Lair. The door activated and closed behind them as he turned the bike out towards the highway to leave the city. With a mad laugh, he sped, taking the turns low and steep. Enjoying the adrenaline of the ride and his mate’s arms around him.
