Harrison abandons his breakfast, and scampers to follow Wayne, a running refrain of ‘shit shit shit’ playing in his head. As it is, he gets outside just in time to hear Syx bait his husband.
“Okay, that’s enough,” he says, shooting Syx a pointed look. He doesn’t think Wayne is blameless in this, but he doesn’t like the way Syx is talking to his husband and he’s not going to stand for it in his home. “Let’s all just talk about this like rational fucking adults.”
[Crossing his arms, Wayne leans against the open balcony door and just smiles thinly at the whiny man-child sulking on his balcony. Behind him, he can feel Harrison’s panic. But clearly neither of them understand quite how he works.]
[Glancing back at his mate, he offers a dark smile and then refocuses on Syx.] I wasn’t going to lay a single finger on him. I was only going to clarify that I am not his Wayne.
Leaning on the railing and crossing his arms, Syx scowled at the floor, “I know that.”
He’d forgotten for a moment, but he did know. The worst part was he could hardly put his mask back on. He was too worked up and the people around him too important. As much as he and Wayne fought, the crux of that matter was that he did care about Wayne’s opinions. Looking back up at the two men, he fought to get control of his whirling emotions.
“Yet outside of the blatantly obvious,” he waved a hand towards Harrison, “I have yet to see any significant improvement over my universes version. So please enlighten me.”
Megamind had been performing a steak-out. Sitting on the roof of a nearby building. He’d had brain bots watching the place and tonight should have been the night. A gang had been planning on moving very dangerous weapons through his city and he could allow that.
The night had dragged on. Too many long nights that he’d been building new machines and tracking this potential shipment. His eyes drooped and he was asleep before he knew it.
He was falling …up… the ground disappearing beneath him until Earth was nothing but a marble in the black inkiness of space. His heart seized. No! Nooo! Not again!
Jerking wildly as he awoke, Megamind blinked in confusion at the face that swam into his vision. The expression making it hard to understand who he was looking at, memories blurring together as he tried to put the right name to the face in his half awake state with heart still hammering, “Wha…?”
Syx was beginning to get leery about being locked in a room with the cat eared woman, but she was obviously tired and he still had his de-gun. He kept a careful distance, cape drawn around him, simply memorising everything.
Sitting at the desk, Emma glanced up at Syx a moment with a soft frown, “Well? Sit down, I’ll try to find something,” she urged. Firing up the older computer, she wriggled the mouse around just a bit, tapping the desk impatiently as she does so.
“..What are they putting in those boxes, anwyays?” She prompted, looking to him as she typed in the password without looking
Cringing at the archaic computer, Syx shook his head in disgusted, “That thing might be better as a paper weight.”
Dropping into the office chair and swiveling around he hedged how much to tell her, but from his experiences between when Anna thought she was this woman and Psycho’s daughter, he knew she could be a player but should be neutral. It would be better to have her on his side, “Someone’s moving serious hardware through the city. Besides stopping it I need to know if it’s just moving through or if someone is going to be starting something in Metrocity.”
Huffing Syx tried to wave her off, “It’s fine really.”
Actually, it was embarrassing as the bruises were revealed. As his tight suit was peeled back, dark bruises covered his arms and sides courtesy of a hard staff. Those weren’t the ones he didn’t want to show, though.
When the tub was filled Syx sunk into it with a deep sigh, reaching out he drew Anna to him. Shifting around so she could sit behind him in the tub, “Be careful if you ever run into a blue woman with pink eyes. She has a horrible temper. Also explosive powers. She, uh, blew up my gun. I’m just thankful it wasn’t still using the original power source anymore.”
She did slip behind him as soon as he sat forward. Her legs spread to accommodate his form, her arms wrapping gingerly around his middle. Humming, she nuzzled her nose against his ear before she reached for the body wash. It was her favorite, one that she had found and bought because she adored how it made him smell to her.
“I’m really glad you’re safe..” she murmured teh words as he rhands began to move along his body, washing him bit by bit. “I’ll be careful,” she promised a moment later, without hesitation.
Sighing peacefully as he settled into her embrace Syx slowly felt the tensions ease out of him. Turning he pressed a brief kiss to her shoulder that he could get to easily, “Good, goood.”
“Ha! Well what are you waiting for then?” Megamind gave the Crimson Fucker the come at me fingers from the piolet seat of the Spider Bot, “Come on an hit me if you’re able.”
He’d always loved dogs, it’s why he’d used them as a base for his brain bots. That soft whine brought his hands to the wolf’s head. Stroking the thick black fur and scratching it behind the ears his voice softened, “Ah you’re just a good big doggie. Saving me from that horrible cat.”
With a sigh of exhausted relief, he sagged against the large beast, pressing his nose into the fur of its neck. It smelled… like home. Like the Lair. Like his mate. Syx found himself nuzzling into her fur automatically.
The beast tilted its head down so that its jaw pressed along his shoulder as if it were trying to hug him, a soft rumbling noise sounded just before the beast shuddered.
A moment later, its form rippled and moved, the fur replaced with the warm skin of his mate. It happened quickly, flawlessly, as if the transformation were seamless. She had her arms wrapped around him, making a soft noise in her throat. “..I’m glad you’re safe..” she whispered.
“Oooh!” Syx exclaimed in awe as his arms wrapped around Anna, “You changed!”
Ignoring his own injuries in order to cup her cheeks as he looked into her eyes, “You were a wolf? Or something large… you… how did you do that?”
His face filled with wonder he captured her lips in a kiss, “You were magnificent, tiger!”
“Come on you silly thing, come to daddy,” Syx cooed to the old bot, waving it into his arms. Wrapping his arms around the distressed 98 and petting its dome soothingly, “Thank you for the assistance… Megamind… that feels really weird to say out loud I hope you know.”
“You’ll get used to it.” Eventually. She’d had to, after all, though after this long it doesn’t feel quite as weird for Megamind herself. “But yes, I do know.” Seeing the way his ‘bot was acting, the behavior is familiar enough that she’s worried about it as well.
Making sure all his bot were still accounted for Syx made his way out of his counterpart’s Lair. He gave the outside one more look over, he’d even had this location listed on his possible alternate hideouts. Well, he’d have to remove it from the list for sure now. It was no longer viable with someone already there.
Nodding to his female double, Megamind turned to make his way home, knowing he’d have to spend the next countless nights figuring out how this would affect everything.
“Come again? You say the name like it should mean something to me.”
He’d been to the Museum and done some looking into the mess that was the multiverse Doom Syndicate. She was connected to a Psycho Delic, but not his. Great, wonderful. The one he didn’t know much about yet.
“Ya serious?”
Wonderful, the one time she wasn’t recognized.
“You know this is why I bother to have proper descriptors in my full title,” Megamind gave a bit of a flourish to his cape, “Why don’t you give me the full introduction? Or is that beyond you?”
