Megamind had been performing a steak-out. Sitting on the roof of a nearby building. Heâd had brain bots watching the place and tonight should have been the night. A gang had been planning on moving very dangerous weapons through his city and he could allow that.Â
The night had dragged on. Too many long nights that heâd been building new machines and tracking this potential shipment. His eyes drooped and he was asleep before he knew it.Â
He was falling âŠup⊠the ground disappearing beneath him until Earth was nothing but a marble in the black inkiness of space. His heart seized. No! Nooo! Not again!
Jerking wildly as he awoke, Megamind blinked in confusion at the face that swam into his vision. The expression making it hard to understand who he was looking at, memories blurring together as he tried to put the right name to the face in his half awake state with heart still hammering, âWhaâŠ?â
Cringing at the archaic computer, Syx shook his head in disgusted, âThat thing might be better as a paper weight.â
Dropping into the office chair and swiveling around he hedged how much to tell her, but from his experiences between when Anna thought she was this woman and Psychoâs daughter, he knew she could be a player but should be neutral. It would be better to have her on his side, âSomeoneâs moving serious hardware through the city. Besides stopping it I need to know if itâs just moving through or if someone is going to be starting something in Metrocity.â
âIâm not all that inclined to argue with you over the qualities of my electronic devicesâŠâ She intoned with flat look and a voice to match. She made quick work to get to the video as he spoke further, her lips thinning as she thought.Â
âSerious hardware, hm?â she prompted. Her first thought was to try to figure out how to get it to stop, began to work thorugh different scenarios in her mind.. except she didnât do that kind of thing anymore. She had to remind herself of that.Â
âWhat kind of hardware?â She couldnât help but askÂ
Syx idly watched her work the equipment and with a tired sigh, answered, âGuns and weapons. The information I intercepted made it seem either experimental or not entirely normal, but they were using slang lingo Iâm not familiar with yet,â maybe Harrison and his husband were right about not doing this alone anymore, âI was hoping to find out what exactly tonight.â
