“What do you think it means?” she shoots back, letting Bluebell talk herself out. It’s glow in the dark that catches Lucy’s attention, though, the prospect piquing her interest. “What kind of glow in the dark?”

Bell rolled her eyes, “All the kinds, obviously. Lipstick, eyeshadow, glitter, nail polish,” she rattled off.

A smirk drew up her lips and she bounced on her toes seeing the other girl get excited, “Coooome ooooooon! You have to let me do your makeup!”

Already caught by the mention of glow in the dark makeup, Lucy jumps at the chance. “Fiiine.”

Stretching the word out, she’s doing her best to look more reluctant than she feels.

“Woooo!” Bluebell jumped excitedly and lunged forward to grab Lucy’s hand, “Come on, sidekick!”

Her smile lit her entire face, green eyes sparkling, “Come on, come on, comeon! Stop being a slowpoke!” she tugged on her hand before giving her a chance to speak, “Everything is back at the Lair.”

Going to copy/paste some actual criteria because Megamind is so autistic, and I love it.

• Being “in their own world”
• Can spend hours in the library researching
• Clumsiness
• Early in life they often have a speech impediment (shool/ollo/metrocity)
• Eccentric personality
• Highly gifted in one or more areas
• Intense focus/hyperfocus
• Likes and dislikes can be very rigid
• Limited interests
• Loves learning and information
• May have difficulty staying in school/college despite a high level of intelligence
• Preoccupied with their own agenda (it’s destiny)
• Repetitive routines or rituals
• Single-mindedness
• Speech and language peculiarities / hyperlexia
• Naive
• Abused, bullied, or taken advantage of as a child
• Escapes regularly through fixations, obsessions, and over-interest in subjects (hero/villain game)
• Feelings of polar extremes (depressed/over-joyed; inconsiderate/over-sensitive)

There’s so much more I could add – could be great if fellow autistics and aspies familiar with this awesome film could pitch in!

And let’s not forget – Aspergers and autism are often referred to as ‘wrong planet syndrome’. Megamind being so obviously alien just turns that metaphor more concrete.

Being an aspie, I’ve frequently had to ‘pass’ as neurotypical just to be treated ‘normal’. Much like Megamind’s disguise watch – I slip on a new face/voice and suddenly no one looks at me like a ‘freak’. But it’s not natural. I’m still an alien underneath it all.

{{ aspie here and yes to all of that. I’m sure that’s why I latched on so hard to Megamind. Because I hadn’t known what I was when I first watched it but it was so much just “yes that is me” in everything. Because he clearly has depression and anxiety too but those go hand in hand with autism/aspie. I know I struggle so much with language. My huge vocabulary is crippled by bad grammar and spelling and mixing up words. I live by thesauruses and dictionaries so that I can write clearly. Even then I mix up words that have nothing to do with each other on a regular basis.

All this to say that with so many symptoms, yes I fully support Megs being Autistic. To crave normalcy but to feel caged by it and wanting to just break free and be allowed to be yourself. }}

Date Night

“Mmhmm,” Syx hummed with a shit eating grin at Harrison’s reaction, “A special surprise. What’s a date without some fun little surprises?”

He reached out and ran a finger under Harrison’s lips, “And what do I win?”

Harrison waggles his eyebrows playfully at his date. He so wants to take Syx’s finger into his mouth and suck it while the other man watches…. but he’s not going to lose this bet so easily.

“You spoil me,” he responds coyly, biting his lower lip with excitement. “Lets see…. How about if you win, I go down on you in the car ride home? After we’ve danced ourselves all hot and sweaty. I know you’ll be dripping wet for me,” he replied with brash blue confidence.

Eyes widening slightly, Syx sucked in a breath. That was a thought worthy of weak knees. God, he’d never be able to fit back in these tight pants with his tentacle out… but god damn would that be worth it as long as the place they parked was private enough to slip from car to house. Biting his lip, the villain nodded.

Shifting to a more smug look, he boasted, “I don’t sweat. It’s how I can live in leather all year round,” cupping Harrison’s cheeks, he purred, “You have a deal, you naughty tempting boy.”
