Date Night

dark-blue-mondays:

syx-blue:

Syx slid closer, already looking at Harrison’s phone, “That’s understandable, he’s a special little baby,” besides Syx was rather used to the behavior from several of his Uncles. Though it was mostly grandkids they were showing off now, “He’s had to have gotten bigger since the first pictures you showed me.”

He sipped from his glass as he brushed his shoulder against Harrison’s, his curiosity high. A little blue baby. It still felt surreal.

“He’s my little star,” Harrison replied, beaming with pride.  He shows Syx some of the most recent photos, including a few with Shelly holding Devin and one of him sleeping with Mets cuddled at his side.  He continues to flip through the photos.

“Did I tell you he started flying?  More like wobbly hovering in a general direction, but Wayne is trying his best to teach him focus.  Lucky for me he doesn’t get more than about ten feet off the ground.  And last week I caught him in the diswasher taking it apart.”  Now a picture of a very self-satisfied blue baby sitting on the front of a dishwasher like it was a magic carpet.  Then another of Devin sleeping on Harrison’s chest while Harrison himself has fallen asleep too, taken by Wayne.  The two are draped in Sheldon’s star blanket.

Syx’s face lit up seeing Devin, letting out a soft ‘awww’ as Harrison flipped through the pictures, “Daddy’s little boy. He’s adore-able.”

His brows climbed at the descriptions of flying, “I… I can’t say I ever really put much thought into the downsides of Wayne’s powers… especially not in a baby,” he frowned thoughtfully. Thinking about it, maybe it was a wonder that Wayne had as much control over his powers as he had when they were in the little school house, “Is he going to end up with the laser eyes too? I can see how that would prove very handy for welding.”

He hummed, stocking his goatee, “But that does leave a much higher potential for repeats of the wall incident.” It had taken Syx a long time to get ungrounded from blowing up a wall before he could even talk in full sentences. Syx melted again looking at Devin sitting proudly by the dishwasher, “Such a clever little man.”
