The Game

It had been far too long and Syx felt twitchy. Never in nearly a decade had he gone without getting to stretch his muscles as it were and test his inventions against Metro Man. To have a good round of heroic villain banter. To kidnap Miss Ritchi… he hadn’t seen her in months… accept of TV.

But he couldn’t just act like nothing had changed either. There was more than one Metro Man in town… and Metro Women. And other heroes… and of all of them… the only one he was certain he didn’t want to face was his. It had ripped his heart out the night they had broken up. They’d spoken a few times after… but never for long. Wayne had been going out less and less… Syx hadn’t even seen or heard from him now in months. Part of him thought he should check on the man… another part of him, the part that was winning out, never wanted to see him again.

But that had left him bored. Bored and missing the Game. Yet… in this city he didn’t actually need his Wayne. Still, Syx wasn’t sure how to go about getting a replacement. He had a good repertoire going with Wayne, he knew what to expect of him. What he really needed… was a trial run. To test out a new hero.

He had two thoughts for potential candidates. Harrison’s Wayne and the heroic Megamind that they called Girly. Wayne he could talk to next time he visited Harrison. Girly, though… they’d agreed on brain bots for contact when he’d run into the woman ages ago. The question was how to get his bots to get there.

“No, no, no! Not this Evil Lair! The other Lair! Not-Daddy’s lair!” Syx pointed wildly at the door, “Try again!”

After much trial and error, one of the newer of Syx’s bots, #782, managed to find it’s way to Girly’s Lair, seeking entrance with instructions to relay a message that Syx wanted to talk to her.
