Date Night

Harrison laughed.  Oh his date thinks he’s going to give him a run for his money, eh?  Bless his little supervillain heart.

“I think its red snapper,” he finally answered, picking up one of the little mussel shells and sipping out the foam.  Ooooh it tasted like garlic and lemongrass, the perfect accompaniment to their fish.

“And if you cover the greens in the shredded crab and ooooh some of this crunchy sand, and I’m sure you won’t taste them at all,” says with playful smile.  “You really don’t like vegetables?  What other foods make your list of likes and dislikes?” he asked, as eager to learn more about this man who has captured part of his heart.

Chewing on his lip again, Syx broke down and tried the foam. New and interesting was good… but there was a certain comfort that he very much enjoyed about the same and routine and knowing what to expect. The bright garlic taste made him blink. His brow furrowed in experimental curiosity, he tried the sandy stuff too. Licking a bit and rolling it on his tongue. His mouth open and brows furrowed, he tipped his head to the side, baffled by the odd combinations of taste and texture.

“They-” he shook his head, trying to focus on the question “-they taste weird and are too mushy. Minion says it’s because they just cook them badly in prison but I just really don’t think food is supposed to be leafy. I generally don’t eat it if it’s green or mushy or too hard,” it was mostly a texture thing in the end, “Sweet is always better. Avocados are an exception of course. And tomatoes. But those are both fruits. Fruits are wonderful things when mashed into jellies and pies and on ice cream…” when it came down to it, the villain rarely ate anything not prepared or prepackaged in some way, “Soups are an acceptable form of greens though,” he mused, thinking to the soup and a few others Minion had snuck through on him over the years, “And pum-kins.”

Eating another bit of fish, he waved his fork as he spoke, “Likes… sweet is always good. And pastries. I have a weakness for butter and cream even if it doesn’t sit well… and coffee, I have the best ideas on coffee,” he laughed, it wasn’t really true, more just that he had too many ideas with a good caffeine buzz sending him into overdrive, “The only things I can’t stand aren’t likely to come up,” he shrugged off, looking away. Harrison being the wealthy man he was, the sort of foods that turned the blue villain’s stomach and brought back bad memories wouldn’t even be served as far as Syx knew.

Focusing on his date, Syx tucked his hands under his chin and focused his bright green eyes, “And what about you? What turns your nose or lights up your pale-let?”
