Syx laughed, his insides fluttering, “Right… Right,” he took a deep breath and squeezed her fingers, “Anna, we haven’t known each other long but I can’t imagine my life without you. When everything felt like it was falling apart you were always there to hold me together. We’re lost and broken… But together we’re better. And I… Anna,” he swallowed, biting his lips against the overwhelming swell of emotions in his chest, “Will you-”
“-fuck! I’m doing it wrong! Wait, wait!” Letting go of her hands he scrambled through the pack he’d brought. Pulling out a blue cube, he looked around for a water source before just cursing silently and spitting on it. A small velvet box, barely larger than the cube had been, appeared.
Dropping to one knee like he always saw in the movies, Syx held up the box and opened it. The ring inside was pure black and set with a shining dark diamond, “Anna, will you be my Evil Queen?”
Anna looked to him with a truly intrigued expression, brows furrowing in a manner that held nothing but the curiosity at his words. It wasn’t until he began to weave the romantic words that he was, that she began to clue in on what it was he was doing… and found herself absolutely floored. Eyes widened as her heart kick started in her chest, finding herself unable to realize just how it was she should act in this one moment. All she knew, was the fact that she was filled with so much love…
She watched him fumble her way through the pack, and while she knew what it was he was going to do, she didn’t say anything while she simply waited. She didn’t want to take away from his moment, didn’t want to take anything out of it in the slightest. When it came down to it, everything that was a part of this night was a part of who Syx was, spastic actions and all. It simply made the night all the more perfect, made the moment itself so incredibly memorable. She didn’t take her eyes off of him even for a second, not even as the velvet box was revealed to her from the cube it had been in previously.
She couldn’t help but how her hand came to press to her chest, eyes filling with tears. She didn’t even look to the ring, looking at nothing but Syx as she found herself nodding. “Yes… yes yes yes!” she moved forward in the next moments, pure love filling her chest as she cupped his cheeks and knelt before him, kissing him deeply.
Awash with relief, Syx wrapped his arms around her. His kisses intermixed with his bubbling laughter. Rising he grabbed a hold of her and lifted Anna up as he spun around with mad excitement. She said YES!
Falling with her back to the soft earth, he pressed his forehead against hers, pressing butterfly kisses over her face, “You’ve already been my mate… but you’re so much more. I- I just don’t have words. I don’t think it’s possible to be happier than I am right now.”
He hoped she could tell. Could sense his love. He just didn’t have to words to explain and no language on Earth seemed enough. Maybe something not from Earth… his lips pressed against her ear he whispered a soft prayer of love in his native tongue that he barely understood. But this his Mother had said to him, over and over filled with love in her heart to him in his crib before the end of the world, “ <I love you and everything will be alright because you are loved.> ”
