“Her!?” She practically screeched the single word, her eyes widening, swiftly connecting the dots without him even needing to really explain a whole lot of anything. Of course this idiot fucking takes the shit Carmen takes seriously..! The man didn’t know how to be subtle, or discrete, nor did he know how to take things lightly to begin with! Her lips twisted into something close to a snarl, turning from him to take a couple pacing steps before returning to him.
“I get appearances, blue brain… but jesus.. having ta send his wife back to him? Where is she, even?” She prompted, looking around before looking up. “..Please don’t tell me yer dumb enough ta leave her in tha cold… jesus..” She grumbled, not having connected the dots that Carmen was actually cubed and not restrained.
“So you know her then,” Syx pulled back at the furry of Lyn’s reaction and stamped out his cigarette angrily, “Yes I am fully aware of the seriousness, thanks.”
He shot her an exasperated look, “In my pocket? Fuck, Hell Cat, I’m not an idiot. She’s safe and sound. I only verbally threatened her,” he rolled his eyes up to the sky, “She threw all my good will in my face and expected me to bow to her ridiculous and fucking cryptic statements and just, fucking hell,” he threw his hands up, “She’s the one that needs to not start shit! What the hell was a pregnant lady doing mouthing off to a super villain without any protection!? What? She thought I was some push over clown? Ha!” he kicked an empty bottle hard, sending it sailing to shatter on a wall, “All I fucking did was offer her dinner.”
“…In yer pocket? Tha-” she stopped as she finally realized just what it was he did, her eyes widening a fraction before sighing heavily and reached to pinch the bridge of her nose. “…Did ya think about what fuckin dehydratin her would do to tha kid she’s growin’ in her damn stomach?” She prompted, looking to him with a frustrated expression.
She exhaled slowly, surprisingly calm considering it all, “Alright.. look. I’ll give ya tha address, but past that, ya know I gotta remain neutral, right?” She knew he would know that.. but it was something that she would need to ensure would remain. A war was inevitable in her own mind. She assumed Jon would be beyond furious.. and no matter what it was Syx would say, it wouldn’t make it better. If her and Jim got drug into the middle of it? It would likely turn into a blood bath this city didn’t really need.
Besides, there was no real point in Lyn taking sides to begin with.
“I know my inventions better than you,” Syx snapped, “It’s perfectly safe. Safer than any other way I could have dealt with her. Do you have any idea the amount of brain damage getting knocked out by force can cause?” which of course was why he used a spray for Miss Ritchi.
“Information is all I came for Emmalyn, the fewer people involved the better,” sighing he drew his cape closed and wrapped his arms around himself under the cover of it, “Can you tell me about his abilities? His men?” what he’d gotten himself into… fuck, he hadn’t seen any way out at the time… but this wasn’t going to be fun, “Also… just a heads up, I’ll be test of the big guns when this starts up, as a show of power.”
