Trouble Cubed

“I know my inventions better than you,” Syx snapped, “It’s perfectly safe. Safer than any other way I could have dealt with her. Do you have any idea the amount of brain damage getting knocked out by force can cause?” which of course was why he used a spray for Miss Ritchi.

“Information is all I came for Emmalyn, the fewer people involved the better,” sighing he drew his cape closed and wrapped his arms around himself under the cover of it, “Can you tell me about his abilities? His men?” what he’d gotten himself into… fuck, he hadn’t seen any way out at the time… but this wasn’t going to be fun, “Also… just a heads up, I’ll be test of the big guns when this starts up, as a show of power.”

His snapping words had her ears turning back immediately, eyes flashing with irritation, “Calm tha fuck down, dumb ass!” She snapped. “Carmen is somethin’ of a friend, and I’ll be damned if I don’t ask a simple fuckin’ question an’ get a god damn answer without ya bein a god damn cock thistle about it!” She snarled the words, growing more heated the more she spoke.

She took in a deep breath to calm her ass down, though her eyes still shone with irritation, her tail lashing behind her in further show of the emotion. “From what I understand, tha guy is pretty much tha opposite a Dad. Dad works with love and relief, tha other guy deals with nightmares and pain. He can turn ta smoke and put drugs inta other people’s systems.. I don’t know any specifics past that.. Dad an’ him had a sort a ‘show an’ tell’ of powers when they had their truce meeting.”

“Fuck,” SYx muttered, “Well your friend needs some life lessons about negotiation tactics and how to give threats,” talking more to the ground than to Lyn. He’d grown comfortable enough around the other villain over the years to let her see the real him. To see him weaker and frustrated. There were things he still would never trust her with… but that number had dwindled in ways that scared him some days.

Biting his finger as she listed the powers, he reasoned, “So cubing won’t work on him… my protection will be the same I use on you dad, so that shouldn’t be an issue…” he tapped his chin, “What’s old Jimmy Boy think of him anyway? I thought he’d take it harder than I did finding alternates?”

Especially as it sounded like this guy was somehow the evil version, which was a worrisome thought. For all their fights and disagreements… Jimmy wasn’t the worst thing. They were killers and Syx really didn’t trust them… but they were manageable for the most part and Jimmy did have morals. He could come to some agreements with the man.
