I kind of want to start a new RP blog, but I’m not sure what character to play? What is there already an abundance of? What is lacking?

@setepenre-set @ladyspock7 @justiceisanoncorrosivemetal @megamindyelling please help me decide, I think I could handle just about any character. Or is it more common to have a whole AU, and control all the characters at once, just doing crossovers with other people’s AUs?

((There are plenty of Megamind and Metro Man variations, but that doesn’t mean that you couldn’t come up with an unique version for yourself. There are a couple active versions of several other canon/semi-canon characters, but  the same thing applies to them, there is always room for new takes on them.

There is one canon character that we are notably missing: Hal/Titan. He’s the obvious one for someone to pickup in terms of adding to the tumblr universe, but there is also an obvious flaw in doing so. Well, a couple actually. He’s damned near impossible to play long term, largely because of his dudebro personality, but also because it’s hard to find a balance for his destructive powers. Anyone should try to figure out the details before attempting him.

As for AUs, most people will create just one AU character and may or may not collaborate with another person they get along with to create a pair within that AU. It’s more common for people’s canon and various AUs to just intermingle freely. For example, my Metro Man and Filthy’s Megamind are canon, but they have both treated Crow’s Roxanne as though she were canon even though they both know that that Roxanne is from the same universe as Kay’s Fem!Megamind. My Metro Man also is married to Dani’s AU Megamind, who has a Minion that shares the same blog, but is rather rarely played because that’s how most multi character go; with a main and others that are almost treated as npcs.

Tldr: Create who you WANT to play as, whether they are canon, AU, genderbent, or OC. As long as they are an interesting character, we will want to play with them.))

(( I’m always happy to talk to new rpers too. •3• and there is a huge mix of us that play dozens of canon or oc muses and ones that only play a single muse. Both are just as awesome and welcome. ))
