It was a beautiful fall day, warm but with a breeze that played with the handful of leaves that had already fallen in Metro City.  And Harrison was glad for it.  It had been raining on and off for most of the last week, but today’s forcast called for a warm golden day.  Probably the last one they would get for a good long while so Harrison did not want to waste it.  Wayne was taking Devin for another playdate with Vycter while he caught up on hero business with Girly, so the blue man was happy to have a little alone time.  His full-time paternity leave was almost up and if he was honest, he was itching to get back in the CEO seat even if it was just part-time until after the holidays.

But until then, he had a day to himself and my god, he was going to enjoy it.  He practically skipped down the stairs of Megamind Inc in his casual jacket and tie with a delightful pair of suede loafers.  He’d forgone his usual security detail, since he had a new degun strapped to his ankle and another hidden in the breast pocket of his coat.  He’d decided to skip the car today as well.  It was just too nice to be inside! Perhaps he’d stop by the donut shop and ooh maybe pop into the Bvlgari store on his way to walking out by the lake….

Waiting until the blue man had gone by, Roxanne stood to follow, soothing down her yellow blazer. She could hardly believe her own eyes even though she’d seen the pictures. She pretended to be on her phone as she walked, occasionally taking pictures of him. Even without the lack of leather and actual fashion sense and glasses, it was clear very quickly that the only things this man shared with Megamind were the skin tone and body type. He didn’t even walk the same.

Still, the sudden appearance of more blue men in the city that for all intensive purposes had somehow always been here must be connected to Megamind. After all, his building was called Megamind! Once Roxanne had her nose on a story, she was horribly stubborn about following it to the end. Her mother always complained that it was her worst trait, and while it had gotten her into plenty of trouble over the years, it drove her more than anything to succeed.

Harrison stopped at a few of the smaller boutiques near his building.  At this point he knew them all, including which ones were worth his time and which ones weren’t.  In one he snagged a little bauble for Katelynn, in another a toy for Vyctor.  There was the donut shop of course, where he walked out with half a dozen.  And he couldn’t help but stop at Memory Lane for another of those delightful iced mochas that didn’t taste like coffee at all.

He was sipping his drink through a straw and contemplating between a surprise visit to Bernard at the Metro Man/Megamind Museum and heading on to the Bvlgari shop as planned.  However since he was in no hurry, he took a seat on a nearby park bench and decided to savor a bavarian cream while he mulled his options.

Following along in Harrison’s wake at a distance, Roxanne had to shake her head at the way he spent his money but from what she’d research it fit the bill. Rich beyond reason. The toy she assumed was for his son, having seen the birth announcement in the papers while looking up everything she could. The huge amount of donuts definitely struck her as a very Megamind behavior, though.

It wasn’t until the coffee shop that she’d gotten distracted from her goal. Her morning drink was long sense gone and she needed to refuel. Giving in she got a drink for herself. When she excited, for a moment she feared she’d lost him… but finally caught sight of his blue head as he moved towards the park.

Debating with herself, she finally walked over to his bench and sat down casually beside him. It was time to start the surprise interview proper, “Mr. Drake-Scott, if I’m correct?” she knew she was, “Considering you’re married to a super hero, what’s your take on Megamind?”
