Personal Investigation

Following along in Harrison’s wake at a distance, Roxanne had to shake her head at the way he spent his money but from what she’d research it fit the bill. Rich beyond reason. The toy she assumed was for his son, having seen the birth announcement in the papers while looking up everything she could. The huge amount of donuts definitely struck her as a very Megamind behavior, though.

It wasn’t until the coffee shop that she’d gotten distracted from her goal. Her morning drink was long sense gone and she needed to refuel. Giving in she got a drink for herself. When she excited, for a moment she feared she’d lost him… but finally caught sight of his blue head as he moved towards the park.

Debating with herself, she finally walked over to his bench and sat down casually beside him. It was time to start the surprise interview proper, “Mr. Drake-Scott, if I’m correct?” she knew she was, “Considering you’re married to a super hero, what’s your take on Megamind?”

Harrison was so busy enjoying his drink and donut that he didn’t notice Roxanne Ritchi until she was right beside him.  In fact his mouth was still wrapped around his straw when she plopped down, and he raised one eyebrow at her strange greeting.  Even if he didn’t know that the Girly’s Roxanne was supposed to be with Wayne and the kids for their playdate, he could clearly tell this wasn’t the Roxanne he knew best.  Her question made it clear she was new, not least of all because she was rudely interrupting him for some kind of impromptu interview.

“While it’s always a delight to meet a Roxanne Ritchi,” he finally drawled, trying and failing to keep the amused smirk from playing at the corner of his mouth.  “I’m afraid if you want an interview, you need to book one with my publicist darling.  However if you’re welcome to a donut if you’d like to chat off the record, kidnappee to kidnappee.”  And with that he gestured to the bag sitting between them on the bench.

The ‘a’ Roxanne Ritchi answered quite a few questions in and of itself. Leaning back and taking a sip of her coffee she laughed, “For it to be on the record there would have to be a story in the first place,” considering the reaction of several her coworkers when she tried to bring up the strange doubles, she was beginning to fear even the tabloids would think she was bonkers for thinking it was strange, “and in my experience CEOs on multi-million dollar companies are rarely happy to see me,” she looked him over with a critical eye noting every small difference between him and the blue man she knew, “Surprise is often it’s own advantage.”

The kidnappee comment struck an interesting train of thought, “If you’re married to Wayne and founded Megamind, does that make your Roxanne the villain?” she mused, shaking her head and laughing at the thought of herself in Megamind’s cape, “No, this is just for my own sanity. I was beginning to think I’d gone insane or suffered amnesia. It’s not often that you find yourself watching a broadcast you don’t remember giving.”
