“Huh,” Syx pursed his lips and nodded, “That’s good then.”
He had no idea what to do or talk about but he was determined. He wanted to bond with the people in Emma’s life, the ones she talked so fondly of. This is what normal people did, right? Even his Uncles thought he needed to socialize more.
“Do you like robots?” he blurted out at near random, “Do… you want to see my robot?”
Joey pressed his lips together at the boys interest and comment on the subject. Part of him wanted to pry the boys brain and find out why his curiosity was there, but based on his attire and the few piercings of his own it was no doubt a personal fascination with body-modification. Joey himself was a shy person, but the skill of being able to hide it came with his age, forcing himself into conversation to try and break the habit.
❝ Robots? ❞ That had his brows raising. ❝ Hmmm, well to be honest –– I don’t know much about them. My knowledge of robots is RoboCop. ❞ He explains, shifting his weight before he looked back to the boy. ❝ Never mind… It’s old men stuff –– show me. ❞ He says, assuming Syx had never heard of RoboCop before. Or if he had, maybe not seen the show itself.
“RoboCop is a cyborg not a robot,” Syx rolled his eyes, “Those are cool too, but it’s not A.I. True artificial intelligence is a pain in the ass, but there are so many awesome breakthroughs happening!” he was bouncing on the balls of his feet now. His excitement over his passions always seemed to at least temporarily blow past his anxiety, “I build one that can cook! And I made a thinking one on top of the Siri code. I’m trying to integrate everything together, but it glitches put all the time.”
