Megamind had been performing a steak-out. Sitting on the roof of a nearby building. He’d had brain bots watching the place and tonight should have been the night. A gang had been planning on moving very dangerous weapons through his city and he could allow that.Â
The night had dragged on. Too many long nights that he’d been building new machines and tracking this potential shipment. His eyes drooped and he was asleep before he knew it.Â
He was falling …up… the ground disappearing beneath him until Earth was nothing but a marble in the black inkiness of space. His heart seized. No! Nooo! Not again!
Jerking wildly as he awoke, Megamind blinked in confusion at the face that swam into his vision. The expression making it hard to understand who he was looking at, memories blurring together as he tried to put the right name to the face in his half awake state with heart still hammering, “Wha…?”
Megamind hummed in agreement as he took the paper and slipped it into a hidden pocket. After a moment’s thought, he bit his lips and sighed.
Leaning down he took a pen and drew a sideways 6 a piece of paper so it looked more like as eye. Tapping it he told here, “I can get you a plaque or something, but just put this but in blue somewhere by the entrance or bar. Think of it as one of those security company logos and if someone does rob you, tell me. They won’t do it again.”
Any of the criminals in the area he held knew Mr. Blue/Megamind or would learn that name very fast.
Emma watched him in what it was he did, her head tilting curiously as he drew a 6 onto the piece of paper. She listened quietly as he spoke, nodding slowly to show that she was at least following along despite the time. She slanted a look up at him, examining him with a long look for a moment before taking a deep breath, her fingers closing over the paper.Â
“..I’ll do that..” she assured him quietly, though couldn’t help but wonder what kind of issues it would bring by having that on her door. She wouldn’t voice those.. she would accept his generosity without complaint. “Thank you.”
Letting out a breath, Megamind nodded, “Your assistance was appreciated,” he was certain he could have gotten it himself, but she had saved him a lot of time and effort.Â
Smoothing his cape back around him, he headed back toward the door, “Ciao, ciao, I’ll take you over the Hell Cat any day.”Â
