Not able to keep the smug grin off his face at that, Megamind swept his cape around him. It was all part of the game, the dance… like a comfortable glove, their repeated banter and inside jokes. He did enjoy the validation of her occasionally truly playing along, however.
“Oh you will scream in absolute terror when you see what I have planned for you tonight,” the only problem was that all the timing was off now… hitting her with the knock-out spray would leave her out for far too long. Biting his lip he shifted nervously, “I don’t suppose you’d be complacent in just getting in the car willingly and not peeking tonight?”
Despite herself, Roxanne laughed softly before nodding this time she truly did allow the very corner of her lips to rise faintly upwards into a grin and she tilted her head slightly to the right hand side and she slightly shrugged her shoulders while at the same time swishing her own cape behind her in a similar way that he had done.
“Oh I am absolutely sure I will. I can promise you that” She said her grin widening just an inch. Upon his request, Roxanne rose an eyebrow upwards slightly this was totally a different way of doing things, she would’ve thought he just would have used the knock out spray but then again he did say before that she was a bit late but it wasn’t like she could do anything about late for she was having the best night of her life.
“hmm, well I have had a few drinks so I’d like it if I could avoid having the gases of the spray sprayed in my face at such a late hour as this. So yes I will go willingly and not peek. I’ll just keep wearing the hood of my cape over my head until I’m in the kidnapping chair”
Pursing his lips, Megamind was a bit suspicious at how quickly she agreed, but ah there it was! Shaking a finger, he answered, “Ah, no, no, I’m afraid I will have to insist upon the bag, Miss Ritchi,” he expected the standard protest, but he quickly held up the bag. It was a new one, just for today, orange with a jack-o-lantern grin to add to the theming, “I can’t have you using your willy reporter skills to learn my secrets.”
Looking over her outfit again, he realised how long she said she’d been out. Presentation really was everything. The both were used to putting on a public face and he’d always made sure she could look her best before being on camera. So he offered, “Did you want to freshen up or change first?”
