Hearing the door to the apartment open, Megamind drew his cape around himself. Standing tall as Roxanne came to the balcony he said haughtily, “You can scream all you like Miss Ritchi, but your convenience is hardly of my concern!”
“Your dallying has already put my schedule drastically behind,” he faulted, though, really getting a look at her. Green eyes narrowing, “What are you…”
He’d hardly recognized her in the blond wig. The worst part was he could swear he should know the costume but he couldn’t place Damn it looked familiar, though! Shaking it off, he raised his chin, “Evil doesn’t take a night off.”
Roxanne bit her lip to try and keep herself from allowing the grin of slight embarrassment to force it’s way over her features when she took notice of him looking her over while she did the same thing to him, her blue eyes narrowing just slightly.
“Megamind you know me by now that I hardly ever scream for you but what about this because it’s Halloween night I promise I will scream for you but just this once at the lair” she said in a serious tone of voice, sweeping a lock of the wig hair behind her ear before clasping both of her hands behind her back.
Not able to keep the smug grin off his face at that, Megamind swept his cape around him. It was all part of the game, the dance… like a comfortable glove, their repeated banter and inside jokes. He did enjoy the validation of her occasionally truly playing along, however.
“Oh you will scream in absolute terror when you see what I have planned for you tonight,” the only problem was that all the timing was off now… hitting her with the knock-out spray would leave her out for far too long. Biting his lip he shifted nervously, “I don’t suppose you’d be complacent in just getting in the car willingly and not peeking tonight?”
