[The mention of Psycho running into a demon has Wayne questioning several things. Was Syx referring to the main Psycho Delic he knows, the second one slithering back in, or one from Syx’s own dimension? Of the three options, he’d prefer that it was the first. Sure, a third Psycho who will talk to this Megamind means that there is a level of control there, but that would also mean that that Psycho might use magic and that is not something he would enjoy battling regularly.]
[Wayne scoffs at the mention of the other Metro Man.] If he’s getting lazy just because there are other heroes around, then it’s quite possible he is like the usual versions of myself you can see around here. A quitter. There are at least two nearly identical versions of myself that have retired from the Game. And they did so before this overlapping dimensional nonsense. Girly’s Metro Man is one of them.
“Be nice,” Harrison cautioned his mate. He knows his husbands dim view of most of the other Wayne’s in town, but he doesn’t want him insulting Syx’s other lover.
“I do some business with one of the Wayne Scotts who never came out as Metro Man before faking his own death. He’s married to Bernard, the curator of the Metro Man slash Megamind museum.” Harrison shrugged. “But he is right, most of the other Wayne’s in town are out of the game or never got in it. Leaves my man as the main hero in town.” And he blows his Wayne a kiss.
Syx frowned, “That has to be taxing… I had a good system back home to keep things under control, but it’s all fallen apart here,” her took a drink from his cocoa before picking at what was left on his plate, “Considering the mess everything is in, I’m not sure if rebuilding is even possible.”
The idea that the standard state for Wayne to exist in is a quitter doesn’t bode well with Syx. He’d been growing ever increasingly worried about Wayne.
