Blue Paint

ever-so-humble:

syx-blue:

Pulling his cape around him as if he could hide in it, Syx made himself small. Eyes closed and just breathing. A blue child. A blue hybrid child. He might have had one… the memory haunted him always. What if he had kept the egg? If it had been a child?

Shuddering, he forced the memories down. It wasn’t just him. His species wouldn’t die with him. Feeling lost, Syx just stared blankly at his female counterpart. The whole situation so entirely different that he no longer had even the vaguest idea of what to do.

Still cautious, it’s with some hesitance first that Megamind almost reached out to Syx before he looks up and begins staring at her. At which she herself draws back, back straight and standing unconsciously taller; the blank look on the other alien’s face doesn’t give her any hints at what he was thinking at this distance.

Falling back on her old habit of bravado came easily, but not soon enough to prevent a confused-sounding “Is something wrong?”

Realizing just how badly cracked his mask had become, Syx tried to force his expression to better fit into his villainous role. Expression ending up looking far stiffer and pained then intended, Syx’s voice was harsh even to his ears, “Of course not! Why would there be?”

Jaw set he rose to his feet in a sharp movement. His cape drawn around himself as a protective shield. Home and Minion were the things echoing through his mind. Yet part of him swayed, wanting to spend more time with another member of his own species. The first he’d even known since he came to this miserable rock.

“What happens now?” more asked to himself than to her.
