Megamind had been performing a steak-out. Sitting on the roof of a nearby building. He’d had brain bots watching the place and tonight should have been the night. A gang had been planning on moving very dangerous weapons through his city and he could allow that.Â
The night had dragged on. Too many long nights that he’d been building new machines and tracking this potential shipment. His eyes drooped and he was asleep before he knew it.Â
He was falling …up… the ground disappearing beneath him until Earth was nothing but a marble in the black inkiness of space. His heart seized. No! Nooo! Not again!
Jerking wildly as he awoke, Megamind blinked in confusion at the face that swam into his vision. The expression making it hard to understand who he was looking at, memories blurring together as he tried to put the right name to the face in his half awake state with heart still hammering, “Wha…?”
Because I know your double? Because my girlfriend once thought she was you? Because I fell for her first when she thought she was you? And I don’t know where the lines are for those feelings?
Megamind lips drew this and he contemplated what to say, “I know Harrison,” that was both true and safe, “And I’ve run into Sheldon,” he took a deep breath to calm his nerves, straightening and looking around to the area he’d meant to be watching, “Parallels and differences… the multiverse is a strange place. I know you’re not the cat eared girl I know because you’ve yet to badger me or throw insults. So you must be Sheldon’s,” he shrugged.
Emma watched him as he stood, her head swivelling and rising as her ears perked forward again, sniffing a bit and rubbing at her nose. “Well then,” She mused, shifting to stand right along with him.Â
“I haven’t ran into somebody who knows whatever-they-call-her in a while,” she mused, chuckling. “..You’re alright though?” She prompted, tilting her head just a touch, “This isn’t really the most comfortable place to be hanging around to sleep.”
“Wasn’t supposed to be sleeping,” Syx muttered dryly, rubbing his stiff back. Straightening out his hip gave a sickening pop and he sighed in relief. Trying to get back into his role, Megamind shook himself out and drew himself up, “Evil is never fine and always lurking. What better place then a roof top?” biting his lip he added, “You wouldn’t have happened to see a whole bunch of guys moving big boxes around down there earlier, did you?” he pointed across the street.
