“It’s okay. You’re going to be okay.”

Syx howled in pain, clinging tightly to his beloved Anna. He couldn’t cry, not like humans, yet his eyes filled with unshed tears. Inner eyelids blinking them away and blurring his vision. His face flushed as he rubbed against her, seeking comfort. It had been the hardest decision he’d ever made. Ripping his heart to shreds and leaving him a mess. It was right and needed. It was horrible and he was a monster. Nessisary to move on. Regretted instantly. Heartache overcame him.

“I don’t feel brave,” Syx sighed, “I feel useless and selfish and horrible.”

He curled his face into her neck. Hadn’t even said goodbye, just left. He was a monster. Yet he’d never been able to face Wayne and tell him that they couldn’t be together like that anymore. Wouldn’t have had the strength to walk away.

As it was… Syx pressed a hand to his stomach and shuddered. He didn’t want it to happen again. Even if it was from a man he loved. Even if it could mean… he hoped beyond hope that nothing would come of it, whimpering softly.

Anna made a soft noise, pressing a gentle kiss to his temple, “..You are not useless.. you are not selfish. You are strong.. and even if you don’t feel it, I know it. I see your strength..” she murmured the words gently, bringing a finger beneath his chin.

She raised his head to look at him, pressing a gentle, lingering kiss to his lips, trying to use that contact to express how much she loved him, how proud she was of him.. but she hid the fear she felt. She truly did mean the words she spoke.

“You deserve the best..” She didn’t know what it was Wayne had done.. but she knew her love. She knew her man, knew that he wouldn’t have done this unless it was important.

Syx shook his head as he curled into her, “I don’t. I’m a monster… I don’t even know why…”

…why you’re here…

Wrapping his arms tight around, Syx made a distressed noise in the back of his thought. He couldn’t handle the thought of losing her too. It was a stupid thought, he could smell her love… but it was still there. The fear that she’d be over him one day.

Shifting around to thread his fingers with hers, he managed to breathe, “I’ll be okay… I knew it could never last…”

…nothing ever did…
