Good Morning Sunshine

Immediately Harrison drops his fork into the pile of whipped cream and reaches out to put a steadying hand on Syx’s silky back. He knows the fear that comes with loving a working hero.

“It’s okay,” Harrison said reassuringly. “Most of the anons are just sadistic pranks and none of those injuries were life threatening.” He doesn’t say anything about Waynes invulnerability being offline for months after Rapunzel’s death or Lady Safeword. Those are Wayne’s stories to tell if he wants. He looks to Wayne hoping his next words will also reassure their guest.

Easy, easy. Not everyone here has dealt with as many of Anon curses as I have. And that includes the heroes. [Wayne is curious about this ‘Anna’s curse’, but now might not be the time to ask about it. Plus Harrison might already know, so he could get his answers without upsetting the other blue man.]

[It’s about then that Wayne realizes he cares. He still might not trust Syx to the same degree that he does his own Megamind, but he trusts him enough not to completely close off reassuring information.] Magic Anon spells are always short term and do not kill or seriously maim. Like Harrison said, they are pranks. And… and to be perfectly honest, all of my most dangerous injuries are because of how my invulnerability works. The claw marks, the puncture mark though my side, the jagged strip on my ribs, the scars on my fist, none of that had to do with magic at all. So, unless your Metro Man has a similar flaw in his invulnerability, he should be fine. Safe.

Frowning lightly, Syx leaned into Harrison’s touch as he listened to their explanation, “Pranks? There’s some sort of twisted god out there fucking with people?” he was too distressed to bother controlling his tongue, the curse slipping out, “What do you mean… flaw? Wayne doesn’t have a weakness, not that I’ve ever found. There are things I’ve found that can temporarily slow him down or disorient him… I’ve made him bald a few time,” he snickered despite himself at the memory, “His hair is far less invulnerable than the rest of him.”

“I’ve never even left a scar of him,” his nemesis had left many of Syx over the years, even if the large man had always regretted it. Just part of the constant imbalance of their relationship. No matter what they were to each other, they were always out of balance, “Wayne is… a flawless diamond… I once thought if I threw myself against him long enough I could… leave a mark? Do something… but I can’t… and I don’t think I ever will,” he found himself admitting softly as he looked away from the others.
