The little blue boy blinked up at the blond woman. He shook his head vigorously no and put his fingers to his mouth in a shush motion. He was hiding from Daddy. Games were fun, even with Daddy’s mustache bristled.
As she carried the sleepy small blue child, a loud ruckus could be heard a ways away. On the street before a little red school house a man in a suit was shouting at the teacher, “What do you mean you LOST him!?”
Prison guards stood near looking nervous as the Warden finally spun around. Barking orders he sent the men to start searching the surrounding area for Blue. James Woodridge took a moment, fingers on the bridge of his nose, before he went to start hunting down his errant child as well.
The ruckus certainly drew her attention, the arm that wasn’t looped beneath Syx’s rump moving to support him at his shoulders, rubbing the area soothingly. Moving fully out of the hiding spot and into the open street, seh began to make her way towards the male voices, reasoning in her mind that it was where the boys father was.
She kept her pace steady and smooth to not jostle the boy too much as she made her way there.
Falling into a sleepy half nap the boy didn’t stir until his father’s voice reached him.
“BLUE!” James shouted, jogging toward the strange woman holding his adopted son. Holding himself stiffly as he approached her, his voice was gruff, “Thank you for finding him Ma’am. I hope he didn’t cause you any trouble,” his lips drew thin, fearing trouble was exactly what Blue had been causing, “I’ll take it from here,” he stepped forward to accept the small child from her arms.
Lifting his head up and rubbing his eyes, Syx murmured, “Daddy… I don wanna go home yet.”
