Hearing Wayne’s voice Syx looked up, he’d been using his new found ability to wander around without the hollow watch to hide his blue skin, still marveling at it. He was wearing his studded biker leathers and had been leaning against his bike.
He really hadn’t been expecting to run into Wayne though, or for the man to openly approach him. He tipped his head and quickly took in the differences, this Wayne was younger with a splash of lovely freckles over his cheeks. So not his and not Harrison’s… yet another Wayne then.
“Oh… uh, thank you?”
“You’re a monster!” Sheldon exclaimed in mock horror and some actual distress, “You wouldn’t…”
Syx made a distressed noise as they started to move away. Shitshitshit! Harrison was friends with this Sheldon, had said he wanted them to meet. FUCK! This was going to end up looking bad and he really didn’t want to ruin the impression his potential new lover had of him. Plus his own curiosity over both of them wared against his self-hatred. Cursing he called out, “Look we got off on the wrong foot, okay? My name is Syx Blue.”
Wayne stopped when Syx called out and sighed, turning and crossing his arms.
“Wrong foot indeed.” He wasn’t amused by this guy in the least but he’d give him a second chance. Besides, he was another blue… Sheldon might like to stick around, get to know him.
Wayne hoped he wasn’t making a mistake.
Sheldon couldn’t help the snort that came out, “Six Blue? You got named after a number and a color? Our skin color? Did your parents hate you because I would have changed that first thing.”
Syx clenched his fists, his jaw snapping, “S. Y. X. and Dad had tried but humans can’t really pronounce [Zissyxsus] now can they?” the name he said rolled off his tongue easily, his face flushing as he said his real name. The only thing that was easy to make out of the rolling word was the YX sound in the middle. Thus, he’d been called Syx.
When he heard the name Sheldon froze, eyes wide as he stared at Syx. It had been a very long time since he’d heard his own name spoken. He hadn’t ever used it for himself. Minion had never said it. He barely ever thought of it anymore. His parents had certainly never asked if he’d come with a name. He wasn’t sure how to feel about this new development at all.
