Shine Bright Like A Diamond

Syx traced his fingers over Harrison’s hands as he whispered, “I… I smashed it… after I laid it… I couldn’t…. I couldn’t look at it…. and Minion wasn’t… he was outside… I was alone… and I just couldn’t… couldn’t.”

He shuddered, he’d been to afraid to talk to his uncles. Minion had stayed out side getting supplies for their next big foray into being bad boys. Setting up a hang out for them. Warden had away on a trip of some kind. With out his Minion or his Daddy… it had been too much.

Harrison listened, not entirely sure he was understanding the details but suspecting that it had something to do with laying an egg.  Ever since Sheldon’s freak out over finding himself with one, Harrison had been silently thankful that his anatomy didn’t involve that particular quirk.

“It’s all okay now,” Harrison said, trying to keep his voice soothing, letting go of one hand to cup Syx’s face and stroke his cheek with his thumb .  “You made it through and that’s what matters.  All of us….. we’re not meant to be alone, we’re not built for it.  And we all fall apart sometimes.”

“No, what matters is that the rock spider is dead,” Syx half snarled, eyes closed tight, using prison slang for pedophile. He took a shuddering breath. Blue skin. Its what he’d always wanted to see and he’d killed it. Smashed the egg. He couldn’t have keep it. Not that monster’s child. But… but… if it had been a baby… if…. he sobbed softly, curling against Harrison as the guilt washed through him again.
