Harrison couldn’t help but show his disappointment when Syx was no longer in his lap. And normally if left unattended in a new place he would wander and touch whatever he pleased. But Syx had told him to stay and so he decided to obey. If you don’t count getting up to reclaim the plate of cookies before heading right back to his place on the sofa. By the time Syx returns, all the lightning bolt cookies are nothing but a few crumbs and Harrison has brainbot 8 on it’s back while he pats its belly.
“Djinn… like a genie?” Syx wrinkled his nose, much of the book didn’t make sense to him which was why he’d never really dug into it before, “There is one paragraph and it seems more theoretical then from experience,” he sighed, “I might have to ask for a favor from Hot Flash if I have to deal with this Drago then.”
Seeing that his ‘spot’ was now occupied by #8 Syx stood frowning at the bot who was very much enjoying the attention of the ‘other daddy’. He could go back to sitting next to Harrison, but his previous seat had been far preferable. For the time being he simply cocked a hip as he stood before Harrison and grabbed a gear cookie for himself.
“He used the word djinn, but yeah, he seems like a genie. I know he has powers over sand as well as telekinetic powers and the ability to curse people. Other than that, I’m not entirely sure what he can do. Only that he opened a door to a pack of demons that want my entire family dead,” he said bitterly, biting his bottom lip. He gave eight a few more pats, then let out a loud sigh.
“Sorry to be maudlin. It’s just been rough. Even with Wayne’s powers and having the Horseman of War on our side, it’s not enough. I’m learning a little magic, but nothing powerful enough to fight a demon or a djinn. Mostly I can just put up defensive shields and float small objects.” With that he focuses on a cookie on the plate and soon the cat shaped sweet is levitating in the air. That catches eight’s eye and the bot leaps up to tackle the cookie with it’s giant bear trap jaws. Apparently Syx wasn’t lying about the biting.
Syx raised his brows at the magic trick, “There is a good several chapters in here about demons…” he sighed, “But I’ve never dealt with them directly myself. I got the impression the D.S. had a run in at least once in the past though,” the villain shrugged.
He waved off eight who was in a mood now and bobbing around excitedly and snapping it’s jaws, raining cookie crumbs everywhere. After a moment of hesitation Syx slid into Harrison’s lap again and took the man’s chin in his hand, “I could potentially call in some favors and set you up with a meeting with Hot Flash using my rep with her as your in. However…” he let the word hang, “Such business between us would leave you indebted to me and I don’t care about money. Favors and information are far more useful,” plus he was having far to many dangerous thoughts about the man. Like what he’d taste like.
